
International Finance Corporation (IFC), a member of the World Bank Group, promotes sustainable private sector investment in developing countries as a way to reduce poverty and improve people’s lives. IFC’s Middle East and North Africa Department is looking to hire the following positions to work in our regional office in Karachi/Islamabad, Pakistan. The selected staff’s responsibilities will include origination and support of new transactions, as well as supervision of an assigned portfolio of projects in the Infrastructure (UN) cluster, most importantly in the Infrastructure sector in the MENA region.

Duties and Accountabilities
- Developing a thorough understanding of the different infrastructure sectors including: transport, power and utilities and establishing in-depth relationships with key regional and local sector players.
- Developing investment marketing strategies within the region, including targeting potential clients/investors and promoting IFC’s products and services.
- Evaluating the attractiveness of specific transactions and making recommendation for IFC’s investments.
- Participating on teams for due diligence of companies/projects for potential financing, with a strong focus on credit and asset quality. This would include processing mandates, structuring deals and negotiating term sheets and other documentation, syndications and internal approvals, as well as supervision thereafter.
- Participating in negotiations with the borrowers, sponsors, co-lenders, etc.
- Managing IFC’s relationship with various stakeholders in assigned portfolio companies.
Selection criteria
- MBA or equivalent degree with specialization in Finance.
- Strong analytical and conceptual skills encompassing finance and the allied areas of financial investment, portfolio management, corporate finance and economics.
- 5 – 7 years of relevant experience in finance, e.g. corporate banking or project finance, investment banking, asset management or equity analysis experience.
- Ability to work in large, culturally diverse and geographically dispersed teams.
