Standard Chartered Bank is looking for Business Planning Manager for their UAE, Dubai office to support CEO in providing leadership for the Group in Islamic Banking through developing overall strategy and direction. Supporting CEO in balancing priorities of governance, audit, people, financial performance, and franchise management responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities:

Supporting the CEO in the following key areas:

Business strategy

• Developing a consolidated Islamic Banking strategy, also participating in the business specific Consumer Banking/Wholesale Banking strategy development process

• Coordinating with countries as well as internal parties in developing Islamic Banking strategic presentation, to communicate business goals and performance to internal stakeholders

Financial Performance

• Managing and driving the Islamic Banking financial performance by working with individual countries to ensure that financial results are on track to exceed or deliver targets, that forecasting is accurate and that the business is managing its cost budget effectively.

• Participating in Islamic banking budget and investment exercise in order to support the business growth of Islamic Banking

Audit

• Operating the business according to the highest standards of compliance and operational risk management practices as defined by internal requirements

Franchise Management – Islamic Banking

• Coordinating with Group Marketing by providing key information on Islamic Banking and working together with media partners to enhance the Bank’s internal and external reputation.

Knowledge & Skills:

• Proven business acumen (including ability to assess risk and appropriate levels of return), excellent interpersonal skills, multicultural awareness and sensitivity

• Broad knowledge of domestic and international banking practices

• Skilled in networking within the banking industry

• Relevant experience in operations and administration of a branch organization

• Ability to contribute towards balance sheet management

• Ability to relate to and manage relationships at all levels

• Good understanding of Regulatory Compliance

• Good understanding of Consumer Banking and Wholesale Banking

• Good understanding of key Credit, Market, operational and other key risks.

• Arabic speaking will be an advantage
