Head of Internal Audit & Compliance

Qualification:

  • Chartered Accountant/Certified Internal Auditor
  • Experience: 6-8 years post qualification (preferably with financial institution)

Profile Requirements:

  • Knowledge of all financial standards, prudential regulations, and statutory provisions, Companies Ordinance 1984, Standard Operating Procedures of NBFC
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills, people management and goal & task orientation approach
  • Age 35-40 years (preferred)

Responsibilities:

Internal Audit: Add value to the Corporate Governance structure, operate as an effective change agent, support the Audit Committee in executing their responsibilities, help management to achieve their goals and objectives and enhance the overall control awareness within the organization
Compliance: Reviewing/ensuring compliance with the laws, rules and regulations, Investment policy (in case of Mutual Funds) and Standard Operating Procedures (including Offering Documents and Trust Deeds in case of Mutual Funds) relating to the management Company and Funds managed by the Company.

Qualification:

  • CFA (preferred)
  • Masters of Financial Management/Economics/Business Administration

Experience: 4-6 years post qualification experience in equity research or equity sales with 1 – 2 years as fund manager

Profile Requirements:

  • Knowledge of evaluating financial values of equities
  • Ability to analyze organizational annual reports
  • Ability to conduct individual based research to ascertain the market trends and movements to achieve benchmark returns.

Responsibilities:

  • To determine optimal asset allocation according to each funds outlined objectives and constraints, and given the forecast of market conditions
  • Objective is to outperform the risk adjusted returns provided by the benchmark as well as peers
  • Portfolio selection involves evaluation of the financial value of the companies by analyzing annual reports, internal research, sell side research, and meeting with company managements
  • Keep informed about news flows in the market through market participants and brokers
  • Manage liquidity of each fund managed by the fund manager
  • Coordinate with CIO on all investments
  • Liquidity management through investment management as well as redemption forecasting keeping in view the unit holders/certificate holders on their patterns of investments.
  • Actively manage the fixed income portfolio based on interest rate movements
  • Actively managing and monitoring fund performance, and size wise classification of clients

Qualification:

  • CFA (preferred)

Responsibilities:

  • Understand critical macro-economic issues for efficient asset allocation and investment strategy decisions.
  • Develop and articulate the macro view of the economy, markets and investment strategy, and have the ability to incorporate this perspective into capital market expectations.
  • Make recommendations to the investment committee regarding investment policy, asset allocation guidelines, and compliance with investment procedures.
  • Implement a highly disciplined approach to the process of analyzing, selecting and monitoring investments in order to ensure consistency with the investment plan.
  • Oversee relationships with sell side brokerage houses and other capital market participants.
  • Provide support to the business development team who depend on information from the investment platform to service institutional clients.
  • Interpretation and application of complex rules and regulations.
  • Act as a spokesman for communicating the funds under management objectives, strategies and styles to clients, media and internal staff involved in the sales and marketing efforts.
  • Recruit, train and manage a team of investment professionals as needed
  • The position reports to the Chief Executive Officer and is based at Karachi, Pakistan
  • Developing and recommending strategies to investment committee
